Mr Labastida hails from Tijuana.
He graduated from Oberlin Conservatory and is the US winner of the
National Singing Competition in Guadalajara;
winning "Best Vocal Interpreter" in 1999 and 2000.
He is a regular at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion.
