Installation of the 8' Majestic Flute Rank

Donated by Dorothea Laub

November 2020 - March 2021

Majestic Flute Organ Stop

Thanks to a very generous donation from Dorothea Laub, the Spreckels Organ has an add-on voice in 2021 with a new rank of pipes called the “8’ Majestic Flute.”
These 122 new pipes were installed over a period of time starting in late 2020 and began service in early 2021.

Design and pipe scaling (designating the length & diameter) for the Majestic Flute was done by Curator Emeritus, Lyle Blackinton
in consultation with Organ Builder, Charles Kegg.

The Pipes and Chests were manufactured by AR Schopp’s Sons, Inc. of Alliance, Ohio, with preliminary voicing
(adusting the pipe for the proper onset of sound, sustained tone, and volume) done by voicer Bob Beck.

The pipes and chests, along with the required support system and access ladders were installed by the craftsmen of L. W. Blackinton, Inc.:
Jesse Zepeda, Russ Peck, Kevin Baez and Ray Britt under the supervision of Curator Dale Sorenson.
